Secession- The Only True Compromise

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's GOD entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. (More to come on that)

Through Senator Obama's (the "Obamination") efforts to "bring people together" ("we are one"), we have become more polarized than we ever have been in the last 150 years. His Red Army, along with Polkovnik General Pelosi and Generalfeldmarschall Reid, are well on their way to simply punting the Constitution (More to come on DC Voting rights and other treasons). As the Federal Government eventually gets to the point where they are refusing to adhere to the powers granted to them by the free citizens of these United States, their contract with the people is broken.

That being said, there are quite a few people (56% to be exact) who believe that nothing bad can happen in America, it is ok to spend money that doesn't exist because the Obamination grows it on his magic money bush in the white house, and that the best way to deal with suicidal terrorists is to talk to them over a cup of tea (because that worked with the Japanese, right?). As these people make up about half of the country, these people have the right to their opinion. If that is how they want to live their lives...awesome. What is NOT ok, however, is when their total stupidity (yeah, I said it) puts the rest of us at risk- economically, socially or militarily (more to come on all those).

Since the Obamination campaigned on compromise and bipartisanship, I would love to help. Start by listening to your boy John "She had terminal cancer so I just went ahead and started moving on" Edwards- there are two Americas. We should recognize them.

SPLIT IT IN HALF. There are two ways to do this...either let each state decide for itself whether it wants to join the People's Republik of Amerika or the United States, or just draw a line down the middle. California and Hawaii go to the People's Republik, and the USA gets Alaska. Would some people get screwed by living is a state that ends up on the wrong side? Yep. I would be totally willing to pay extra taxes to fund a government check to cover their moving expenses to get the hell out.

Everybody's reaction to this is "no,no,no.....we need to preserve the union" WHAT THE HELL FOR? So we can all suffer from the Obaminations shopping spree? Screw that. I honest-to-God to not understand why people think this is so far-fetched? Lots of countries do it- Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Korea, China and Germany. So why is it that people are afraid of it? Well, if you look at the aforementioned countries, the answer is obvious- THE SOCIALIST SIDE ALWAYS SUCKS.

The USA would continue on with business as usual. Actually, life would improve now that the hard working moral people have successfully removed the cancerous tumor from society. People would be free to pursue happiness (omg...what a thought), spend their money the way they want, talk about whatever is on their mind, and begin mending the moral fabric of society. We could resume being a competitive society, and usher in a new era of advances in technology and medicine. Crime would be drastically reduced, as a result of a greater percentage of people being moral and year-round open season on criminals.

The People's Republik would also continue on as usual, for a while. The largest problem they would face would be finding funding for their plethora of social programs. As they would have far, FAR fewer producers in their country to steal from, they would be forced to exploit Hollywood, as that would be about the only source of tax revenue. As that was bled dry, they would be left with a choice: sell bonds, print money or raise taxes. As nobody would actually buy junk bonds, they would be forced to resort to 80-90% tax rates. It would become a government controlled state (See North Korea). The labor unions would all evaporate as the businesses would move to the USA, and the remaining businesses would be taken over by the all-controlling government. Out of desperation, crime would run rampant.

Is it any wonder some people are horrified at the idea of true compromise? It is like a leech who is detached from its host (if I was a leech, I would be horrified too). The fact their plan is centered around enslaving the producers in society is not acceptable.

But why is this idea so ridiculous? They can have their labor unions, they can get rid of religion, they can tax the hell out of people, they can ban guns, they can have talks with terrorists and they can buy everyone a house if they want to.

Everyone wins, right? Isn't this a "win-win-win"?

My Voting Plan

So I complain about the voting process on a regular basis, and one of you finally called me out and said "well what would you do about it?" I have thought about this, and come up with the following as the most fair process:

a. Require a very easy, basic 10 question test at the ballot to "qualify" your vote. Questions will be as such:
1. How many justices are on the Supreme Court?
2. Name the 3 branches of government
3. Name the 2 VP's running in this election
4. How many senators represent your state?
Your score on this test "qualifies" your vote. If you score 10/10, you get one full vote. If you score 8/10, you get 80% of 1 vote. A 1/10 or 0/10 gets you 1/10 of a vote, and that is only because you have the right to vote. This system ensures that incompetent votes may retain their fundamental right to vote, while protecting competent voters from skewed election results, regardless of party affiliation. We believe this is the most fair process, as it directly links voter competence to the valuation of that vote.

b. If you do not pay income taxes, the maximum your vote can count is 1/4 of a vote (even if you score a 10/10). This is under the philosophy that some social issues and foreign policy may not be 100% related to tax revenue, but the remaining 3/4 of the issues are, and since you don't pay, you don't get an opinion.

c. Rotate the questions every year so people cannot cheat. They should be kept to a very basic high school level. For example, asking voters to name the 35th president is not relevant as would not be an appropriate question.

d. Absentee ballots may be cast, but only counted if a current valid US passport is provided. This is to ensure no "fake' absentee ballots or dead people are counted.

e. If you vote and then die, your vote does not count.

f. Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the Marianas, and other US Territories may only receive 1/4 of a vote. See item b. The District of Columbia also qualifies for 1/4 of a vote, but only on the basis that the US Constitution felt it necessary to deny them congressional representation for a reason.

A little background....

I'm male in my late 20's. I live in the Washington, DC area (aka the 8th circle of hell). I have a college degree from a public university, go to work 5 to 6 days a week and make between $50 and $100K a year, just like the rest of the middle class in this country. I pay all my taxes (so I am not eligible for Obama's cabinet). I'm married, go to church every now and again, rent a house and have a dog.

I have moved 15 times in 20-some years, and I lived overseas for a number of them, in a 3rd world country.

My race is irrelevant, as we strive for a colorblind society. My family came to America between 1680 and 1720 to start a new life. I have inherited nothing, and expect nothing. Nobody gave my ancestors anything- it didn't stop them.

We have fought for freedom for centuries, including the 1688 and 1745 Jacobite rebellions, serving in the Continental Army and the Confederate Armies, running Blockades in two wars for Independence, and fighting for freedom in two World Wars. When I read my Grandfathers' diaries, I tear up. I admit it. In the interest of maintaining the militia, I own multiple firearms, use them regularly, and will gladly serve the country of my Grandfathers if the need arises, provided it is in defense of freedom.

All people are created equal. I am accepting of all people regardless of ethnicity, creed, sex, orientation, etc. You have the right to do your thing, whatever it may be. Even if I think you are an idiot, I still respect your right to do your thing. I will not, however, tolerate it when "your thing" infringes on me.

All I want out of life is to experience all that I can, raise a strong family, live a content life, help those around me, and leave the world a better place than it was when I arrived.
