A Libertarian Manifesto- All we want is to be free.

Freedom (noun)
1) The state of being free, of not being imprisoned or enslaved.
2) The state of being free, unconstrained; the lack of a specific constraint, or of constraints in general.

Liberty (noun)
1) The condition of being free from control or restrictions.
2) The condition of being free to act, believe or express oneself as one chooses.
3) Freedom from excess government control.

This is the mission statement of the United States of America. All laws, court rulings or make-believe rights derive from this sentence. We are a country suffering from a cancer that has been spreading for hundreds of years- government.

Before I get into it, let me address the usual potshots I get from some of my fellow citizens. First, I am not an anarchist. I am not promoting "no government". Second, I am not saying that nobody should pay taxes. Third, I am not a "Bush supporter" nor am I an "Obama-basher". All I want is to live my life in my little part of the world, free of any control or restrictions imposed by idiots from New York City or Chicago, and pursue happiness the way I, NOT YOU, see fit.

I am not a buffoon or a child that has to be coddled, taken care of, or told what's good for me. If I decide to live in Florida and my house gets flattened by a hurricane, it is MY responsibility. If I decide to break into someones house and they shoot me, it is MY fault. If I feel my compensation is unfair, it is MY responsibility to go find a better job. If I want to smoke cigarettes, I am free to pursue my happiness. If I get cancer from it, it is MY fault.

We live in a society today that has been perverted by secular progressives who praise freedoms, but with the other hand strike down yours. Gun Control. Forced tax-and-spend plans. Rewriting history. What is so radical about just wanting the world to mind their own damn business? What? What is so wrong with just wanting to be left alone? This myth of "fairness" is a large part of it. You have to be stripped of your freedom to smoke because it "is not fair" to those around you. You have to pay higher taxes to fund welfare programs and create jobs for unskilled workers because it is "not fair". There are people in Africa starving and dying of Dengue Fever...is that "fair"? Is is "fair" that Labron James plays basketball for a living and is a millionaire while I work 7o hour weeks to pay the bills? Was it "fair" that my cousin was born to a wheelchair? No, it isn't. There is no "fair". Things are as they are. Period. They either "are" or they "are not". You can either piss and moan about it, or you can stand up and make something of yourself.

Currently, we have a government, usually not even representing you unless you live in New York City, that says "YOU WILL TAKE THIS AND YOU WILL LIKE IT." To me, that does not agree to the original mission statement above. We have spent the last hundred years paying politicians to make up a bunch of restrictions for us and micromanaging our lives, resulting in the rotting of our society. No, you can't drink that beer on your front porch. No, you can't own that gun. No, you cannot spank your disrespectful child. "We are not racists, but you don't have enough black people working here. Go hire more, but don't do it based on race". That's just the beginning. Then we get into the "protective laws": You cannot drive faster than 65, you cannot drink under 21, you are required to pay us a tribute so we can redistribute it how WE see fit. I don't know about y'all, but to me it seems pretty simple: "You are all idiots and morons, and we have to protect you from yourselves". Then as a society, especially the liberal parasites who feed off this cancerous tumor that is the government, we like to make up a bunch of rights that don't exist. Just this morning, I heard someone talking about the "right to marriage". How many times have you heard of the "right to privacy"? I mean, I realize that the Constitution is 200 years old, but there is a difference between saying "well, this shouldn't be taken literally because we don't ride horses to work" and saying "well, I think that by 'freedom of speech' they really intended to say it is ok to burn the American flag and spit in the faces of US soldiers". For the love of God, people... why is this so radical??

Just get the hell out of the way and let people pursue happiness. Don't confuse this with another make-believe right- the "right to be happy". If your pursuit of happiness leads to you living in a shack eating garbage or leads to you being dead in a ditch, fine. You have that right. More power to you. If it makes you happy to spit in the face of a US Troop, fine. Go ahead. When he punches you in the face and beats your ass, don't come crying to the court system. They owe it to you to respect your "right" to be an idiot.

The nanny state we have created, both financially and socially, is the enemy of all the principles we were founded on. All we want is to stick to the original deal we agreed to. All we want is life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Just get the hell out of the way. Let me live my life. You live yours. All we want is to be left alone.

Terminator in Real Life- Liberals attack history...again.

Just like in the movie "The Terminator" when they send the machine back in time to off John Connor's mother-to-be, the "there are no rules in (political) war" liberals are at it again. On the front page of the USA Today (McPaper) this morning, there was a big fat article on the Columbine shooters. Yes, the ones from 10 years ago. According to this piece of "reporting", "investigators" have decided that the shooters were not gothic trench-coat wearing weird kids. Suddenly, these "investigators" have decided they were actually your run-of-the-mill good student middle class normal white kids, who now apparently had a problem with "fags" and "alternative kids". How convenient, right? Doesn't it seem hard to believe that you could have in any possible way confused the type of kids they were originally described as with the type described in this article?

Of course, they did not quote a single police officer or FBI agent in the entire article. Ever. Not once. Their primary sources were some jackass who wrote a book on the matter.

Could it be, just maybe, that this is another example of the nazi-liberals trying to very sneakily marginalize normal traditionally conservative people? Their assault is not limited to the newspapers, either. Public Schools, Colleges and Universities, Network TV...it is everywhere. Free speech is a great thing, however we cannot let the line between opinions, facts, and total BS become unclear. We cannot allow people to rewrite history. Next thing you know, people will say Lincoln fought the civil war to end slavery....oh...Wait....what??

A Glimpse Into the Mind.....

Awakened at 6am to a loud metallic crash. Jumped out on bed and looked into the back yard...thought someone was screwing around and may need to get delt with. Then realized it was a trash truck emptying a dumpster at the apartment complex next door. Got back in bed. Had a dream that I went to karate class wearing only MMA shorts and got yelled at for being late and not wearing proper attire. Woke up again, realized it was 7am, rationalized i didn't need to shower b/c i just showered last night. Brushed hair, teeth, got dressed, etc. Time check: 7:09. Fed the dog and fish, grabbed lunch and ate breakfast while watching "Fox & Friends" talk about the Somali hostage situation. Thought to myself "What is so hard to understand about this? if everyone had guns, they would have shot those Somali SOB's and there would have been no problem". Then realized it was 7:29...ran out the door. Had to move Jo's car as I was blocked in again. Cursed a lot. While backing out of the driveway, got honked at by some jackass who was using my street as a through-street and thought for some reason I was going to back out of my driveway without stopping to look around. Idiot. Thought: He probably isn't even a legal citizen...He's probably still consuming my tax dollars, though. Jerkface. Drove to the metro listing to my favorite morning show: The Junkies. They were talking about Obama's numerous gaffes, such as touching the queen or bowing to the Saudi prince. Thought: you know, for a bunch of loyal liberals to finally be making fun of the anointed one, maybe things are going to turn around. Parked the car and thought: How is it that they are embarrassed by bowing to a Saudi prince, but they are ok with the Bamster running around like a drunk teenage girl with her daddy's credit card??? These people's vote counts just as much as mine...FML. Walked into the metro and got a free "paper" (aka. CRAP) from the hand-out-papers guy. Told him good morning, as always, and thought: "There is a 99.9% chance he voted for Obama because he's black, but I like this guy...he actually has a job and is here every morning. Good for him". Just missed the metro train, but got a good laugh at all the 40-something year old men who sprinted down the escalator about to kill themselves because they thought that getting to work 4 minutes earlier would somehow make a difference (Yes, they missed the train too). Stood on the platform, had some foreign woman walk up and stand DIRECTLY in front of me. Like....almost standing on my toes. What the hell lady? Give me some personal space here! Next train showed up, and the lady literally (physically) bumped me out of her way to be first on the train. If this was the good 'ole days (creation of the earth - 1700 AD), I probably would have smacked her in the back of the head. Got on the next train, stood in the middle of the car as instructed, and took my standard look around. No hotties today. The guy sitting down next to where I was standing had on some weird looking glasses and a nervous twitch. Note to self: Keep your eye on this clown. He's the most likely person on this train car to go crazy and shoot everyone. Be prepared to rain down some GnP on his face. Started to read the paper. First up: Somali pirates article. Thought: I don't care about this anymore. If you go into those waters w/o rolling heavy, you are an idiot. Next up: Random Headlines. Thought: See, this is why newspapers are going out of business. I read about all this crap on the Internet 2 days ago. Next: State Department open to Nuke Talks with Iran. Thought: "Ugh. I cannot believe we built this country into a superpower, and have given it up to total freaking MORONS. If I want something from the gov't, I'll just have to threaten them from now on. Creepy man check: Nope...he's still just sitting there. Everything's cool. Continued to read paper: "Iran charges US journalist as spy" (Screw 'em. Statistically, if you let him/her rot in an Iranian prison, you are doing us a favor) and "Mob storms Communist gov't offices in Moldova" (Why the hell does Moldova have the balls to take their country back, but Americans- who actually started the whole idea- will do nothing about our socialist tyrants?). Then read through the 8-10 pages of crap on arts and indie-rock. Could not understand why so much time and effort was wasted writing and producing a paper on this garbage. Thought: these people probably even get PAID. Jesus. Creepy-man check: Watch out, he just stood up. Ok...he's getting off the train. All clear. Case the area again: No hotties, but also no psychos. Nice. Finally, the opinion section. "60% feel Gay marriage will eventually be legal in all 50 states"- Oh god, kill me now. Reader comment: "I hope that some day people will see past their own ignorance, bigotry and hatred and accept the basic human right of marriage". HOLD THE F ON: 1) Why is it that anyone who disagrees with you is a hater, bigot or ignoramus? 2) Where in the bill of rights does it say anything about marriage? 3) Marriage is a religious thing, and those who support gay marriage also are the biggest rejectors of religion...what the hell is that about? As this comment could have come from the mouth of any number of liberal-hippy-idiot-d-bags standing around me on the metro, I am now officially pissed off at the world around me, and it is only 8:09am. Got off the metro, still annoyed at all the things I read in the paper. Saw a bunch of cops at the top of the escalator and though "oh crap...I still haven't changed my driver's license". They were handing out fundraiser flyers for a fish fry tomorrow. $8 bucks a plate. I thought: You know, if I'm going to spend $8 on lunch, I'd 10-times over rather give it to the cops who are cleaning up DC than those creepy Asians in the cafeteria downstairs that only take cash and constantly rip you off. I'm def. going to the fish fry tomorrow. Walked up to my office, found the door was locked. Thought: Sweet, I'm the first one here. They can't give me any crap for being the first one to leave...wait...no...logic and rationality does not apply. Nobody ever asks what time you got here...they only ask why you are leaving. God I hate the attitudes of DC. Fired up my laptop. Thought: You know, I need to get this out. I wonder if it is just me, or if everyone is like this? Better post in my blog...

The other side of the looking glass: AIG can save us all.

AIG has a opportunity here, folks. Congress has thrown them a hanging curveball, and it is right in their wheelhouse if they will just pull the trigger. AIG can make amends to us, the taxpayers, by taking this one over the green monster...even off the warehouse....

When Congress demands the execs who received bonuses come "testify" before them, TELL CONGRESS TO SCREW OFF.

Congess works for us, the taxpayers. Someone needs to put them in their place. Obviously, in their unprecedented self importance, Congress is going to issue subpoenas to force the execs to come before the inquisition and be "purified". Let them come. Make Pelosi and Frank send the US Marshalls after you. Make sure the TV cameras SEE the US Marshalls (or Congress' SS) come take you in handcuffs out of your houses. Make the American people see that Congress has a blatant disregard for the laws of the United States. It might just be what we need to finally get up and take our country back. It will be a bloodless Boston Massacre...and god willing, a bloodless American Revolution to follow, finally bringing "the change we need".

Gut check time, AIG. Are you going repent for your poor judgement and fight the real criminals, or are you going to be summoned like a dog and fall on the sword for Congress? WWFD- What Would the (Founding) Fathers Do?

Oh..my...god. So first of all, you are admitting that you actually DO understand Rush hopes the policies do not pass, thus logically suggesting you are deliberately lying about the whole "want our president (as opposed to his policies) to fail" thing just to build faux-support. Secondly, how in God's name can you say "...rooting for the failure of your own federal government is pretty creepy" with a straight face? What have you been doing for the past 8-years? Accountibility is dead.

Where's the Beef?

So over the weekend, I had a great conversation with a well-respected (and a rarity- an independent thinker) friend about the current economic situation. In the absence of the usual liberal garbage talking points, I was actually introduced to a few legitimate points worthy of my thoughts...

"He (Obama) is trying to stimulate the economy"

We are just going to have to agree to disagree here. I do not believe he is trying to stimulate the economy at all. I think he is just following his marching orders of the People's Democratic Party. I think they have identified that due to the unpopularity of George Bush and the economic recession, they have a limited window to push through the agenda that has repeatedly failed
for the last 10 years, as they can blame everything that is unpopular on Bush or say "we're trying to fix the economy". SWAT teams do the same thing- it's called flashbang grenades. I do not believe that he or the Democrat Machine care about anything more than their political careers and the Party agenda. They have decided what they think is good for all of us, and now for them it is about "winning".


"It isn't going to get better immediately...it's going to take time"

Of course it takes time. That is how a free-market capitalist economy works. The market goes up and down. When it goes down, over time it goes back up. The problem is that in a year or two, the market is going to go back up anyway. That's just how it works. As mentioned above, this is part of the Democratic smokescreen. First, they are going to say "look what our policies did" when it had nothing at all to do with our conversion to Socialism. Second, right now they are saying "this is going to take a year or so", which is convenient since that is how long is is going to take anyway. So basically they have set it up to where they have about one year to do anything they want under the cover of "we're working on it", and then when the market recovers anyway, they are going to take credit for it. Why is Socialism, or the "New new deal" not going to work? Jeff Macke, of Capital Strategies, had some good thoughts:

"Scared people don't spend. Americans are scared because no one's in charge and the plans that they hear don't make sense."
Since Obama took office on Jan. 20, the Dow has lost 900 points. "If the president changes his tune even a little bit, it's almost impossible to be worse in terms of his tone - if he improves a little bit, we can get 2,000 points out of this easily," Macke added.

As I've been saying, the market doesn't approve of Socialism. If you really want to stimulate the economy, step one is to reach out to business and show us that you are going to actually support the economy. Talk is cheap. Show up or shut up.


"We need to invest in renewable industry"

Renewable industry is a good idea. Clean coal? Fine. I agree this is something we need to pursue. Does this stimulate the economy of a country in a recession? No. There is a market for it, true. Business is going to move in that direction anyway, but it certainly doesn't hurt to have Government incentives. While this is a good idea, this is like shooting spitwads at a tank. Business is cyclical. We don't invent things and then rest on our laurels. We understand product life-cycles. Business, by definition, is renewable. Humanity will always have needs, and business is always evolving to fill them. Get out of the way.

We did that once already by giving people a tax refund, including some people who don't pay taxes (which i'm still trying to figure out). It didn't really work. Why? Because a lot of (smart) people didn't spend it. The same thing happened when they gave the banks all that coin. They put it in the safe. What about jobs? Should we create jobs for the people? YES. The problem: it has to be perpetual and productive. The government jobs, as the current administration has been pushing, are not perpetual nor are productive. So you go hire people to construct a building or a road....what happens when it is finished? You lose your job. Not only that, but what about all the jobless people who are not construction workers? What about the laid off accountants? On top of that, how does a road contribute to the economy? Ok, you can drive to some business. Chances are, you can drive there now. Furthermore, government organizations do not produce anything. They provide jobs for a limited amount of people, and do not increase the wealth or the GDP. Private industry, on the other hand, contribute to the GDP, the market, and creates jobs exponentially. As the business grows, the jobs grow. Their vendors also grow.

Finally, wealth and the economy is not as simple as having a job. While a job does give you a paycheck, a large portion of the wealth in this county resides in the stock market. Giving people jobs does not create stock market wealth. Stock market wealth, however, gives people more jobs. It creates the largest single source of capital for business growth and expansion, including creating new jobs.
